Peter's Bio

I am an artist, I am an award winning illustrator, I am a writer.  I am a digital and video instructor, I am a visual and cultural arts teacher.  I am a doting father and husband.  I am Peter from Peter Pop Art.  I AM PETER PACHOUMIS.
In the 20+ years of working as a professional artist, I have learned and live by one very important rule: Always let your work speak for itself.  My work is often marketed, produced and distributed globally, therefore I am not able to be there to represent it.  It has to deliver its own message.
I have had the privilege to work with some highly accredited companies, thus allowing me to not only to expand my portfolio and create some astonishing pieces of art but it also allowed me the great honor of being awarded not one but three Addy Awards.
Gold Addy Awarded on behalf of the Idaho Potato Commission Campaign
Silver Addy Awarded on behalf of the Idaho Potato Commission Campaign
Gold Addy Awarded on behalf of the North Country Savings Bank
Included in my professional profile are companies such as but not limited to the following:

Such diverse iconic brands need no introduction; however, they share two very important things in common - trust and confidence in what an artist like myself can bring to the table, ensuring the continued success of their products.  In turn, the utmost care and creative focus goes into developing every facet of each project laid before me.  My goal is 100% client satisfaction by establishing a mutually beneficial long-term working relationship based on this trust and respect.
Over the years I have specialized in both trend analysis and branding, remaining ahead of the curve by not only working directly in the advertising field but also referencing my vast years of artistic training, adding a degree of excellence to any project or brand.  Great attention to detail and key artistic sensibility are integral parts of the work I create as a professional artist.  I am known for my Comic and Pop Art style but I am not limited to only those genres.  I have written and illustrated my own children’s book called Grumipty Grump’s Lumpity Stump.  It’s an inspirational story for young children about a lonely monster wishing for a friend to play with.  Self-published,  Grumpity Grump’s Lumpity Stump made it to #5 on the Amazon’s Hot New Releases list.
Commissioned by the City of Largo Florida in 2010 I created 9 banners representing different parts of the Largo city lifestyle.  The banners were proudly displayed throughout the city, as well as being sold in Largo’s City Hall as a series of prints.
As a young artist I had the privilege and honor of meeting some of the world’s best and most talented artists in varying creative industries from New York City, gaining a surplus of insight and inspiration.  The lessons they taught me left a life-long impression, which I applied in my career along the way.  This gift led me to want to give to others what was given to me – paying it forward by working with at-risk youth for over 10 years.  It gave me the opportunity to share my love for the craft as well as my personal insight on how to handle themselves as young adults and future professionals.  As my own children grow – perhaps even into young professionals themselves one day - I only wish that they too will have access to some of the same opportunities that were bestowed upon myself along the way.

Who were some of your early influences?

When I was growing up, comic book artists Jack Kirby, Neal Adams, and John Buscema made a tremendous impression upon me.  Illustrators Andrew Loomis, Alphonse Mucha, Roy Lichtenstein and Drew Struzan continue to inspire me today.

Which of your projects did you most enjoy?

Working on Star Trek: Perchance to Dream was a wonderful experience, as I have always been a fan of most things "Trek".  More recently, I was very pleased to have been selected to do illustrations for a "Hot Wheels" McDonald's Happy Meal promotion.

Are you available for commissions?

Generally speaking, yes, though my schedule varies depending on commitments to other projects. Contact me for more information.

Is any of your original artwork available for purchase?

Some, but not all, artwork is available for purchase.  If you have a particular piece in mind, please contact me.
